Hazardous tree removal
Time
1 day
Integrity Tree Service Crews working for AES Indiana in the Indianapolis area were tasked with removing a very large, very hazardous tree in a very tight residential area. This particular tree was on the utilities “Danger Tree” list and in need of removal to insure reliability for AES customers.
Creating a Plan
Our General Foreman in the region made an assessment of the tree and weighed out every option with the manpower and tools at his disposal. He then made a request for a specialty piece of equipment to take the tree down safely and efficiently.
The Midwest Regional Manager reached out to his counterpart in Michigan to schedule the use of our crane truck. Between the two regions they were able to schedule a day for the crane truck and operator to take care of this enormous, very technical tree removal.
The crane truck is a specialized unit equipped with a knuckle boom crane with a grapple saw attached to the end of the crane. This unit is used to remove large or hazardous trees in locations where there is not room in the immediate area to piece down or drop the tree.
Completing the Work
Once onsite, the crane truck’s highly skilled operator went to work and was able to get the job done in 1 day. This saved the team from having to put a climber in an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe position to rig out a tree that was in poor shape and difficult to reach with a house and other obstacles in the work area.
Integrity Tree Services was able to complete this project safely and quickly thanks to collaboration by our regional teams. With safety as our highest goal, we were able to deliver reliable support to this neighborhood and peace of mind to this client.
